Which is the maximum amount of players playing this mod?

I noticed when more then about 25 players playing server starts to lag ( 500+ ping to everybody), as soon as few players disconnect everything is normal .

And im not sure but i think this is not hosting problem because server ping is 25-30 .

The mod uses roughly twice the amount of bandwidth when compared to a normal COD4 'vanilla' server, due to all the added features/fx etc. 16 is our mods unofficial player target number, but you should be fine with around 20-25. Each server is different however, so you just need to find your servers' limit. Ours is set to 24.

It sounds like 24 would be a good limit for your server. Just because your ping on the server is good, it does not mean it can support an infinite amout of players. It will eventually bottleneck once the server resources can no longer cope with the amount of data being processed.

I think to remeber that even more than 22 players make trouble. Issues like random increased ping of some random players. This is maybe not connection based problem (sv_maxrate) there seems to be something else I think. If you have your own server (not from GSP) it will be probably also interesting for you that this mod eats much more CPU-resourses than core CoD4 does. At least by factor 2 will the used CPU-time increase compared to core CoD4 when using this mod at many players like 25.

For this reasons I have decided to limit it to 20 players on our server.

As stated the max limit will depend solely on your server specs.
