Some more cool updates for those interested. We have managed to improve upon our dynamic day/night cycle for HitLoc. The once epicly bright sky when using NVG is no more, with the introduction of the dynamic DNC into the mod. Now, when it becomes night time, it really is night time. It's dark, it's quiet, and it is extremely awesome...especially with the newly added Night Ops default classes (complete with silencers and red dot lasers).

One last thing, we have also added persistance to the DNC and it now supports a much greater timeframe. This means if one map ends, the next map will start at the time it ended and the increased timeframe provides support for up to REAL TIME cycles, so if you wanted to be extreme you could set the cycle to last 24 hours. By default, the cycle lasts 50 minutes.

I will endeavour to write up some documentation in regards to the new features and changes our mod brings to the COD4 scene.

Unsure of that at the moment, as there is still a bit to do.

You could always 'unofficially' nab the latest files when they download from my server and copy them across to your server.

Yeah. Most likely because the only up to date version out there is on my server.

We will try get another version out soon. I don't think it has really caught on yet. But there are a few regulars on my server and it is pretty satisfying when you get a few guys together and use teamwork.

Once people delve into it a bit more and I could be bothered writing/creating some gameplay tutorials and indepth information on the locational damage, I think it should pick up a bit.

If you just play for 5 or 10 minutes, its difficult to get a grasp of all the changes and will to most, look like not much has changed. But after a few sessions you will start to see all the cool stuff and realise it has a very in-depth damage system, which makes playing the game much more satisfying then just the "pop and drop" gameplay of core COD4 hardcore.

If Falcar is about over the weekend, I might create some tutorials for you all. (LaZzy, you are my backup if previously said person is absent).

Throwing knives have been up and flying for around 2 weeks now. They stick into walls & people causing appropriate damage and blood. When they stick into surfaces (based on angle thrown), they can be picked up again using the defuse button you assign in Multiplayer Controls.

They are found in the Perk 1 category and you have 6 of them at your disposal.

Headshots kill the player after 3 seconds
Neckshots around 6 seconds
Back and front torso cause you to black out and you will survive for around 10-15 seconds.
Limb shots cause bleeding and either cripple you or make you drop your gun for 15 seconds.

There are a few small issues and things we want to change in regards to the locational damage they cause, but they work and they are pretty fun to use. Knife to forehead or back is pretty funny to see. They are especially deadly for silent kills both during day and night.

Let the blood flow!

Martyrdom, I agree. GL not so much. The damage of them has been greatly reduced, but the range the damage is spread over is greater. It needs to be a pretty direct hit to drop a guy with it in one hit, but you should easily get concussed from them, with concussion time depending on the amount of damage you took.

just so you know theres another hitloc server in the US, I think its the BD server because it used to be a MTX one.

Lot's of updates - too many to list considering HitLoc has only officially had one release...ages back.

But for those interested, I will be posting a lengthy document very soon that should hopefully cover the majority of changes the mod has introduced.

In the mean time, check out the new weather effects implemented on Sunday, which will be introduced to Obscurity also. To check them out head over to OC2 HitLoc server.
