For those of you who are not aware, there is a new game eager to take the PC community back to where they want to be.

The game Homefront is being developed by Kaos Studios and published by THQ. The PC-side is being developed by Digital Extremes. As you might know, this is the same company that released Frontlines - Fuel of War (an underrated game that was actually very impressive).

The game is scheduled to be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, and OnLive game service on March 8, 2011 in North America; March 10, 2011 in Australia; March 11, 2011 in Europe and April 29, 2011 in Japan.

There have been many announcements lately as to what the game is to include on the PC side, you can find a lot of this information by clicking here.

A few points made in that link that I will include in this post are:

"Will a Dedicated Server Executable be provided?"
Definitely, we’ve been listening to what the PC audience is looking for and that file will be provided for use. We know it’s been disappearing from the FPS space and want to support the core PC gamer where we can. We need to test the dedicated server infrastructure at ship with the influx of traffic and bug reporting, so we plan to release this within two weeks of the PC title hitting shelves.
"Will there be Mod Tools?"
Not at launch, no. Right now the team is hammering away at the game, building those tools for Community use would take away resources that are needed on the final game. The good thing is: Mod Tools don’t need to be in a box, so if the PC Community is supporting Homefront, we have the option post-ship to provide the Community with something like that.

Why am I posting this you may ask? I would like to have everyone's opinion as to what they think about this game.

ALSO, if this game was to have mod tools, I would like to know if you guys (Snakelet and Falcar) would move on to start  modding there.

One last note before I end this post, if you're interested in pre-ordering Homefront, you can go to Direct2Drive and receive a 20% off discount AND a free copy of Frontlines - Fuel of War by entering the promo code. (I'll make a quick reply to this post in regards to that.

This reply is for the 20% off Homefront deal:

For PC copies only!

For USA: http://www.direct2drive.com/10075/product/Buy-Homefront-Download

1. Preorder.
2. Apply code "wetkitty" for 20% off.
3. Buy!

20% off 50 bucks is 40 bucks... Also, it comes with FFOW!

For UK: http://www.direct2drive.co.uk/10076/product/Buy-Homefront-Download

1. Preorder.
2. Apply code "payday" for 20% off.
3. Buy!

20% off 35 pounds is 28 pounds... and it comes with FFOW as well!

Note: even if you buy from D2D, it will be on Steam, because Homefront is a Steamworks title, that's why the page includes "3rd Party Download Required".

- Credits go to 10-78 Busterking for finding this information. -

LOLZ @ jesus

It is unlikely we would mod it, but I have been keeping an eye on the game. Personally I am going to wait for it to be released and check out a few youtube videos to help me decide whether or not to purchase it.

Sorry I didn't post this when I first found out about it...

Homefront was delayed by one week, making the official release date March 15th.
