Hello,

 

Tried out 295 today, and all I can say is your doing a good job..

 

However, its too easy to kill obscurity now... way too easy, the fun of it has gone. All you need is some ****er on the server with frag x 3 and fire nades and they just hold them to the obs are close.. and then BAM i prefered it when they had a timed explosion thingy..

 

Surely this is making it too easy.. Obscurity have no chance against this, especially when the guys are camping in buildings or somethin so its ahrder to get close =/

 

Whats other peoples ideas on this?

 

Personally , Im going to have to revert back to 294 .. which is sad because everythin else was good (Except the hallucination didn't seem as great.. I didnt seem to see any blurs and the sounds were a bit .. obvious?)

firstly, if they're camping in a building you can just phase or possess your way in. secondly, with the nade problem, i agree this is a bit cheap, but not hard to beat. basically you have to make them waste their nades, i do this either by static'ing at their feet, hullucinating them, or by coming in close, knifing near them and jumping away as soon as their arm moves down. that or just kill them faster then they can drop the nade, which works the best...

the fire nade upgrade was awesome.. specially on bloc when ur vip staining on the stairwell..

EDIT: it just make you have to come up as new tatics as obs

 

the sounds are a good idea but a bit gay :D

 

hallluc didnt seem any diff when i got halluced.. but could just be me

Hallucination is completely different. It plays random sounds from random directions and distances. Knives, landing, taunts and then when it ends the guy screams. Before, all it did was a knife sound effect from the same spot (your back) each time and ws easy to ignore. Now that they are random and have other sounds in you cannot be 100% sure you are hallucinating. If you hear an obs taunt near you, you can't really ignore it as it could be the real obs. The scream at the end is to get all the guys around you to think obs is near, cause if you scream like you have been gutted, they are going to think that. I suggest shooting a guy and just watching him for a bit. 99% of the time they will react.

Pheonix, I think the problem he is getting at is that you can cook it unlimited, which mean once you knifed you drop nade at feet that is unavoidable.

I think I have an idea that may help the incendiary grenade holding problem, because I agree that the unlimited hold tactic is a bit cheap, and yes I do it sometimes lol, but they will stay as impact explosions. You may have noticed not everyone takes medic now.

(Actually there are two ways to deal with it that I can think of now)

EDIT: They will have a 10 second fuse next update. They will still explode on impact, but you will not get an unlimited cook. Cook it for 9 seconds and you can get a midair explosion. You will die if you cook it for 10 seconds as there is no way to avoid the built in insta-death of cooking too long.

hehe sometime i do just cook it.. but then when i do an ob never comes near me... so here i am, in a corner holding down my mouse wheel..... sore finger........ press T to tell of my deliemma.... oops sorry mate.. lol

Possessing and phasing aint gonna work if their camping, usually they have buddies with them.. and phasin personally (I love it) but its one of the times you are most vunerable as u cant move but can be easily seen.

 

and also to be fair, most of the players i play against know when its decoy sound so they wont throw it at that, they wait to here the noise and the blurs near them and corresponding together. =/ I guess the 10second thing will make it better, but the main problem for me is the explosion on impact =/

 

on Obs, you know how you can edit things so like the Flash grenades can't be used? Is it possible to do it for 4th perks?

Have you used the hallucination since the update, it is a lot more tricky to ignore.

Sorry snakelet I disagree. The hallucination is really easy to tell. The first time I was like WTH but then after that it fairly east to tell. Many obs just do of at a distance and all you have to do is look around for the blur and there isn't one around it's fake. The static is also east to tell because it's continuous and obs never move like that (unless their dumb) You could mskebit better if the hallucination was is bursts. Like every 5 seconds or something it makes a noise or does it randomly for a while. Love the scream tho :)

the new version it plays random sounds over 15 secs (knife taunt jump) from random direction and every person i have shot has reacted to it. i dont understand your comment about bursts and static works fine to mask movement.

Edit: If you have to look around for a blur and decide ahh it's just hallucination, then it has acheived it's purpose IMO. It distracted you and made you perform actions you wouldn't usually have. Turning to see if it was obs or not is enough for an obs to leap at your back for a kill.

the point of hullucinate and static is to let you attack them, while they are confused, is they know where the static is, you can run at them from the same direction, it sounds the same, and with hullucinate, if say an obs knifes you and misses, if you just assume its the hullucination, they get another free shot. (applies for jumping as well, ie: landing sound)

Oh well I usually hunt or snipe obs so I'm constantly looking for the blur. And either I've gotten ignorant or brave after playing for a while and I don't seem to pay any heed to the hallucination Nice touch tho
